Kundapur, Apr 28: Movadi villagers went to Gangolli police station and condemned the false case slapped on those not connected with the recent slaughter of cattle. They urged the police to withdraw the case against the innocent.

“Local people who saw cattle being slaughtered behind a house in Movadi informed the police. The police visited the place and took away the killed animal and the meat. The local people had visited the place of the incident only after visit by the police. Meanwhile cases are registered against the suspects. Instead of closing the case at this juncture, there were attempts to make dalits scapegoats. A false case has been registered against three people who are not connected with the incident. A systematic network is working behind illegal slaughter of animals at Movadi. Beef is being sold by putting forward the dalits. There is a conspiracy by PFI behind the incident. PFI organization leaders visiting the hospital and questioning the youth who are in hospital for treatment is proof for it. Therefore, detailed investigations should be conducted in the matter. Police should find out the network behind it and the accused should be severely punished,” urged Byndoor block BJP president Sadananda Uppinakudru.

“There is no scope for illegal cattle trafficking, illegal slaughter of animals and other illegal activities in Movadi, which is a peaceful area. Some are indulging in such activities to create disharmony and spoil peace in the society. Police should take precautions that such incidents do not occur at Movadi and help the citizens to live in peace like before. They must withdraw the cases against those who are not involved in the incident and provide justice,” requested former Kundapur taluk panchayat president Ananta Movadi.

Gangolli police station acting sub-inspector K Jaya, responding to it said that a woman on Wednesday April 26 complained about the Movadi incident. “The complaint is received and registered. As the enquiry is being conducted on DySP level, the file will be sent to DySP office. Therefore, I am unable to do anything at this stage,” he said.

Taluk panchayat member Surendra Kharvi, Sridhara Bijooru, Ramesh Acharya Hosadu, Prabhakar Movadi, Gopalakrishna Nada, Dinaker, Sathish, Keshava, Raghavendra, Sharath, Pravin Movadi and Santhosh Movadi were present on the occasion.
