Daijiworld Media Network – Belagavi (RJP)

Belagavi, Apr 28: A father killed his daughter and her lover after he spotted them together at night and then surrendered himself to police.

Rukmavva (16) and her boyfriend Manjunatha Padesura (20) are the deceased, Yellappa Bheemappa (45) is the accused.
As per details, Yellappa found his daughter Rukmavva in the company of Manjunatha Padesura at his house on the night of Wednesday. Yellappa, who lost his control upon seeing them together, used an axe and hacked them to death. Then he proceeded to police station and surrendered himself.

It is said that Rukmavva and Manjunatha were in love for the past two years. Once they ran away from the village together. Then the parents of the girl and boy managed to trace them and asked them to come back home. Then they convinced them not to continue the love as the girl was a minor.

There were rumours that the couple met each other secretly. But when Yellappa found them together at his own house at night, he decided to kill them. Yellappa was fast asleep and when he woke up at night, he saw the couple talking to each other, it is gathered.

Savadatti police have registered a case.

Besides good advice, on no account any harm should ever be done to either a daughter or the son.

When father found them to gether, instead of killing them, could have thrownout her lover,or adviced him to marry her within short time.Or should have guided his daughter when she already eloped once.Girl was definately not under the control of parents from beginning.Parents are responsible for guiding them. But however not to kill later when something goes out of their control. Now he has not done a heroic act but a horrible cheap method when one dont know what to do.Even the deceased young man shouldnt have met the girl not at night in her house,if he is (was) a gentle man.Father must have felt that he cant tolerate any more his daughters or both ,their play and met the deadly decision in a anger.unfortunate incident. He has to live in jail for rest of his life .sad.

    Dear Santu, Mumbai.

There can be no love without a bit of lust...
Very fact that love still continued after threat proves that relationship was genuine...
India must reduce marriageable ages to 16 for girl and 19 for boy...
Parents are often the biggest culprits...

This is not HONOUR KILLING but daylight murder. What is wrong about falling in love. We marry and love or we love and marry. These love bonds are sacred and need to honoured and protected by all concerned.

It is indeed cruel on the part of the father to hack the young couple to death. THIS IS A DAYLIGHT MURDER and the person concerned should be suitably dealt with by The Department of Crime.

Its LUST Not LOVE. meeting secretly in her own house that too in night...they were just enjoying each other its NOT love at all. He should have furnished them by doing something else...BT killing is not all justifiable..! Now he will have to spend his remaining life in jail.

Any parent should not think that since he or she is the one who is responsible for birth of the child they have the right to kill. They have the right and responsibility to guide and bring up the children but surely not to kill. In an angry mood they should not loose presence of mind.

Pure love is a myth propagated by movies and story's.

The only pure love is from a parent to a child.

If you read Ramayana or Mahabharata properly, you will come to know the LOVE of young people. In bothe articles, it is written that killing and back stabbing is clearly written acceptable and it was the practice. This is the practice which is ongoing now too from many years. It is Indian culture. Hope time to correct it.
