Moodbidri, Apr 27: A married woman who tried to end her life died while being rushed to a private hospital in the town. The incident happened on Tuesday April 25.
Surekha (28), wife of Prakash from Kantavar, ended her life. No reasons for this decision could be attributed immediately. Prakash is employed at Mangaluru. Surekha, daughter of the late Sanjeeva Suvarna from Kotebagilu here had married Prakash from Kantavara five years back.
On Tuesday afternoon, Surekha hanged herself from a tree in a thicket near her house. An attempt to save her by rushing her to Alva's Hospital here was made, but Surekha breathed her last on the way.
Surekha is survived by her husband and a four-year-old son. On the basis of a complaint filed by her brother, Suresh S, a case of unnatural death was registered in the town station here.
