Parliamentary panel summons RBI Governor again

New Delhi, Apr 22 (IANS): Reserve Bank of India (RBI) Governor Urjit Patel has been summoned by Parliamentary Standing Committee on Finance to appear before it on May 25 on the demonetisation issue.

According to one of the panel members, he will be asked how money has so far come back into the system after demonetisation.

The Governor would also be asked when the banks' operations would become normal and also how digital economy is being implemented in the country.

The committee is headed by former Union Minister and Congress leader M. Veerappa Moily, who had in January called Finance Ministry officials besides top RBI officials to discuss demonetisation.

A good decision to summon the RBI Governor. Till the truth is revealed the probe should go on. It is good that the RBI as an institution is respected and protected but it should not be allowed to go scot-free without accountability to the nation. The world wishes to know whether all that the PM spoke on the benefits of demonetization are true and trustworthy. Dr. Manmohan Singh should restrict protecting the RBI institution if essential information is not forthcoming from the RBI Governor.

Don't jump to extreme conclusions. It is just as usual opposition trying to prove Mr.Modi is wrong. They tried protest march, complained to the President, etc etc. They communicated to the public through presstitutes telling the people that they are suffering though nobody complained.Jealousy and hatred for the PM. That's it.
