Belagavi, Apr 21: Some items that are generally used in sorcery were found to have been disposed off near the gate in front of the house of Karnataka State Woman's Congress president, Lakshmi R Hebbalkar at Kuvempu Nagar here on Thursday April 20 morning. The items found included broken coconut, lemon, vermillion, green chilli, rice mixed with curd, turmeric etc.

It is said that such things used in black magic were found thrown opposite Hebbalkar's house in the past too since the last three to four years. Hebbalkar said she has heard that someone is doing these things to bring about her downfall from the current political stature. Lakshmi recalled that similar thing had happened during the 2013 assembly election. She said that although she is not afraid of these things, she confessed that sighting them often disturbs her mentally and emotionally. She would be filing a police complaint soon.

It is suspected that the perpetrators of black magic would have performed puja and other rituals on Wednesday night before abandoning things near Hebbalkar's house at the advice of the sorcerers.
