Bengaluru: Bhaskar Shetty murder- No bail to wife Rajeshwari in HC

Daijiworld Media Network – Bengaluru (RJP)

Bengaluru, Apr 14: State High Court on Thursday April 13, dismissed the bail application filed by Rajeshwari Shetty, main accused in the murder of her husband, Bhaskar Shetty.

Justice P S Dinesh Kumar, who heard the bail application, said in his order that as Rajeshwari is the main accused and that there is sufficient evidence against her to prove her role in the murder, bail cannot be granted to her in such circumstances.

The prosecution had contended that if Rajeshwari is released on bail, there are chances of her destroying evidence relating to the crime.

Bhaskar Shetty with Rajeshwari and Navaneet

Bhaskar Shetty went missing from his residence in Indrali in Udupi in July last year. A week later, Rajeshwari and her son Navaneet were arrested by the Manipal police.

Later three more arrests were made, Niranjan Bhat an astrologer being one among them.

During interrogation, it was found that Bhaskar Shetty was killed and then burnt. Later his remains were immersed in a river.

In DNA tests done later as per court order, it was proved that the bones found during investigation belonged to deceased Bhaskar Shetty.

The murder of Bhaskar Shetty is considered as one of most brutal ones in the district.

I twould be a big scandal if they had given her bail. Why it is prolonging so long? When almost all evidences are there ,could be the case as cleared and they can finish it.Afterall they cant keep them too long in arrest. There must be a certain time for arrest too.If they cant clear the case within this period, they should be freed or not?when she is getting maharani treatment then why come out?

ohoho..... there was a gentleman named Bhaskar, who was murdered by his Rajeshwari and his son.... there was a case... now itself it's a good old story... no idea will run for how many more years and one fine day , at a corner of a magazine we may get to see a small news as "Rajeshwari and her son released due to lack of evidence" and it will be such a small news then and nobody will remember the case nor will have enthu to protest.... Just read about the lone suspect of Saujanya case has been given bail due to lack of evidence against him.... same story may repeat here also...
Hats off to our judicial system.

For the simple reason that it was a stage formed plot against him and there is no circumstantial evidence against him. He was granted bail by the honorable court and not by tom, dick and harry.

You idiot, read the judgments first and then draw any comparison between two murder cases. From your comments it is clear that you do not even have the basic knowledge of the criminal code in India and still want to drag some totally irrelevant case to this forum.
