Beltangady: Sowjanya murder case-HC stays further probe

Daijiworld Media Network- Beltangady (RJP)

Beltangady, Apr 12 : The state High Court on Tuesday April 11, granted stay on the CBI’s further investigation into the sensational rape and murder case of Sowjanya.

Justice Anand Byrareddy granted the stay while hearing a petition filed by Dheeraj Jain, Uday Jain and Malik Jain. All these three persons are named as witnesses in the chargesheet filed by CBI relating to this case.

Sowjanya (17), a PUC student of SDM College in Ujire near here, was raped and killed on her way back home on October 9, 2012.

The CBI had filed a chargesheet naming Santosh Rao as the main suspect. Dheeraj Jain, Uday Jain and Malik Jain were named as eyewitnesses.

Sowjanya’s father’s submitted a plea for further investigation into the murder case even after the chargesheet was filed. Following this, the CBI court had ordered for further probe.

Recently, the three witnesses challenged the CBI court order contending that once charge sheet has been filed, further investigation cannot be conducted in the same case.

Justice Byrareddy, who heard the petition, granted stay on the CBI’s further investigation into the case.

It's quite clear the HC too has come under the influence of bigwigs. Is there a law once a chargesheet is filed further investigation cannot be conducted in the same case? Why and for what reason? Why a further investigation by the same or another authority cannot be conducted if the previous investigation has gone in the wrong direction or if the victims are not satisfied with the outcome? Surprisingly petition had been filed by the witnesses and not by the accused, which itself gives a clue about the culprits.

India's justice system is fallen to the lowest. My sympathy to the parents of deceased parents.

In God's court there's always justice. Please have patience and pray for the victim.

The perpetrator of this shameful and terrible crime and those who supported him in this shameless cover-up may escape from the hands of the law on this earth, but, they can definitely not escape the wrath, justice & punishment from The Almighty.

Let's all pray that the truth is brought out, even at this late stage.

May God grant eternal peace to Sowjanya's soul.

All evidence might have been systematically destroyed long ago; even if they open the case again, it will become pussuka! Chapter closed, now they can only pray for divine justice if at all it "exists"?

Suspects made as eye witness by first charge sheet!

Santosh Rao caught by these 3 witness after 3 days on a hillock and made him accused!

    Quote:-
"once charge sheet has been filed, further investigation cannot be conducted in the same case"
    Unquote:-
Do suspects has the right to decide? further investigation can not be done?

why our system allows suspect to become eye -witness and facilate them to find a new accused instead?

    Very Very high handedness sure!

    Joh jeethgaya ohiee Sikandar!

joh maar gaya? ohoi mar gaya?

Failing to arrest the real culprits clearly indicates that culprits are having high connections. It's almost 5 years since the tragic incident.
We all need to join hands for her justice, she is daughter of someone, sister of someone.
We will all be successful in tackling this kind of situation only if we join our hands as Indians and not as Hindu, Muslim, Christian.
Request to all fellow members here is that please don't get diverted listening to politicians or so called "Religious leaders" who seems to have taken oath for dividing people in the name of religion. I need to be in old Mangalore where all were happy being with each other irrespective of caste.
    God Bless!
