Youth dies clicking selfie on railway track

Panaji, Mar 6: A 25-year-old youth lost his life when he was hit by the train as he was clicking selfie on his mobile standing on a railway track near Karmali railway station, 10 kms away from here, police said.

“Sachin Kundaikar who was standing on a railway track at Daoji village near Karmali railway station was killed when he was hit by a speeding railway,” Konkan Railway Police Inspector Harish Madkaikar told reporters today.

He said the youth was clicking his selfie when train hit him, and was accompanied by another friend when incident happened at 3.30 in the afternoon on Sunday.

The youth was immediately rushed to Goa Medical College and Hospital where he was declared brought in dead, the inspector said adding that the deceased was living at Indiranagar, Chimbel, a village near Panaji.
