Mangaluru: Miscreants pelt stones at 2 Kerala government buses at Talapdy , Beeri

Mangaluru, Feb 24: Unidentified miscreants pelted stones at two Kerala government owned buses on Friday February 24 at Talapady and Beeri near here. There are no casualties.

It is reported that the bus travelling towards Kasargod from Mangaluru city was stoned and the front windshield of the bus was damaged completely. The incident happened near Talapady check post. 

Later another bus was stoned at Beeri. 

As Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan is arriving in the city on Saturday February 25, for a communal harmony rally organized by CPI (M), BJP has called for a bandh and district administration has taken measures to provide adequate security in the district to avoid untoward incidents.

Ullal police are investigating.

Mangaluru: District administration requests for public cooperation during PUC exams

Mangaluru, Feb 24: The Additional Deputy Commissioner of Dakshina Kannada district has requested for public cooperation so that PUC examinations can be conducted smoothly on February 25 as scheduled.

In a press release, he has stated that he has come to know through media that there will be protests from various organizations on February 25 opposing to the arrival of Kerala Chief Minister in the city and bus services will also be affected. “PUC examinations are scheduled throughout the district on Saturday, February 25. Nearly 17,315 students from 124 colleges will be writing the examination.” he informed.

“Suitable security and bus facilities are arranged that day so that the students may write the examinations. Students are requested to write the examinations without fear. People, groups and organizations are requested to cooperate in view of the education and well being of students.” he said.
