Mocked by Shobhaa De, overweight Cop asks ‘Will she pay for my treatment’

Neemuch (MP), Feb 23 (Agencies) : A 58-year-old policeman from Madhya Pradesh has expressed displeasure over columnist Shobhaa De tweeting about his obese physical condition, which he said is not because of overeating but a hormonal disorder.

"I am hurt with Shobhaa De's tweet poking fun at me. I have put on weight due to hormonal disorder following my gall bladder operation in 1993," Inspector Daulatram Jogewat, who weighs around 180 kg, said today.

“If madam wants, she can pay for my treatment. Who doesn’t want to be thin?” Jogewat said.

Jogewat, posted at the Police Lines here, said he would talk to his seniors about the mockery over his obesity. "It is up to them to take a call on the recourse I should take," said the policeman, who is scheduled to retire in 2019.

De had posted the image on Tuesday after the polling for the Mumbai civic body ended amid a heavy police bandobast. "Heavy police bandobast in Mumbai today," the socialite had tweeted while posting the image, and incorrectly identified Jogewat as a personnel of the Mumbai Police who were deployed for the BMC polls held on Tuesday.

As her tweet went viral, De got trolled by netizens. Hitting back at her, the Mumbai Police had tweeted,

"We love puns too Ms De. but, this one is totally misplaced. Uniform /official not ours. We expect better from response."

However, in an attempt to make peace, De had yesterday posted a fresh tweet: "Mumbai/ Maharashtra Police Pranaam. No offence intended. M.P. Police, Consult a dietitian, if it's an asli, undoctored image doing the round."

De had in the past also courted controversies following her tweets. Her comments about poor performance of the Indian sportsmen in the 2016 Olympics had met with severe backlash.

Let all know how many plastic surgeries Shobha De has undergone for her "cosmetic looks" which she flaunts abundantly. She can then opt to pay for such surgeries for people who she thinks are out of shape or those who are in need instead of trying more surgeries to 'maintain' her acquired looks Just because she has all the means and the social media access it does not mean she can poke fun at othrs and grab attention.

It is a double disadvantage for the victims like obese people, as disadvantages like obesity , handicapped and physical disorders prevents carrying out routine works smoothly they also has to bear mocking by people like the celebrity lady. Stop insulting others and putting them to the edge.

Shobha De.comments has to be viewed in the right perspective. If the concerned police personal is obese due to valid medical reasons then such personal should not be deployed for any civil duty but should be transferred to office duty .On a broader side many of the police personal have paunches and they look lethargic .Nobody can deny that .It may have surely hurt the concerned police man but her post should be taken seriously and measures undertaken to rectify it at the earliest.

@concerned citizen, global citizen,It is no go to write such comments in media.may be some of us do comment about a third about their dress, weight or behaviour. But in a media open to mock is a another number.without anything about them ,simply comment, can hurt them and not less get hurt about and do suecide.didnt we hear students comment about their classmates ,got hurt and suecide?whereas was not at all truth ?one can ask compansation for such mockery. One should place themselves in their place and think twice before commenting.Really feel sorry for the cop, I know how hard one should struggle to move about ,call for help for small things, has a high rate of short life .why cant he take a early pention?I find still bad that this woman says to consult diatician.height of her shamelessness.
