J&K: Four killed as militants ambush army convoy


Srinagar, Feb 23 (PTI): Three soldiers and a woman were killed while five army personnel were injured as militants ambushed an army convoy in Shopian district of Kashmir today.

Two officers -- Lt Colonel Mukesh Jha and Major Amardeep Singh - are among the five injured Army personnel.

A police official said the militants attacked the security forces party which was going for a cordon and search operation in Chittargam area of Shopian.

He said three army personnel were killed in the attack while a woman - Jana begum - died after getting hit by a stray bullet.
