Udupi: Renowned orthopaedic surgeon Kumble Premanand Nayak passes away in USA

Udupi, Feb 18: Dr Kumble Premanand Nayak, who belonged to the famous Nayak lineage from Kumble, and who was a renowned orthopadic surgeon settled in USA, breathed his last in that country on February 16. He was 81.

He is survived by wife, Suneethi P Nayak, who happens to be the daughter of the late Dr T M A Pai, and two sons, Dr Naresh Nayak and Sr Suresh Nayak, both of whom are doctors serving in USA, and daughter, Sangeetha Nayak.

Nayak had completed his MBBS and MS degrees through Kasturba Medicla College Manipal, before securing FRCS degree from Canada. He had settled down in Cincinnati, USA, where he was respected to be one of the finest orthopaedic surgeons.

    My deepest sympathy on your loss. I worked with Dr Nayak in the OR when he first came to to Cornwall. Such a nice person and pleasant to work with. It was great fun going in the OR in those days. I will always remember him as a kind and gentle man. Karen Malloy

    Sorry to hear the demise of our beloved friend Dr. Nayak.
    His love and friendship leave an indelible imprint in our memories. It finds comfort knowing that our lives have been enriched by having known him and shared good times with him for a long time. He will be deeply missed by all of the people he knew and touched.
    Although no words of sympathy can ease the loss you bear, still you may
    find some comfort to know that others care about you. Let the almighty

    Your father was a wonderful man.

    He was truly blessed as a husband,father and grandfather.

    I was blessed to work with him as a surgical assistant a good

    number of years ago.

    What a kind and gentle man he was.

    I remember every time I saw him he had a smile on his face and

    he would always shake my hand. To me it was always an honor.

    When I would get the oportunity to see him around you, I could

    see the love in his eyes and how proud he was of you.
