Two union ministers fomenting trouble in Tamil Nadu: Subramanian Swamy

New Delhi, Feb 14 (IANS) : Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Subramanian Swamy on Tuesday said that although the BJP has nothing to do with the crisis in Tamil Nadu, it is two union ministers who have been fomenting trouble in the state.

“I asked my party if they have a stand on the situation in Tamil Nadu, and they said ‘no’. I asked the central government if they have a stand, they too said ‘no’. There are two union ministers who have got nothing to do with Tamil Nadu but are trying to foment trouble by propping up O Panneerselvam,” Swamy told CNN News18 TV channel.

Swamy also expressed satisfaction at the Supreme Court judgement convicting Sasikala in a disproportionate assets case. Swamy is the original petitioner in the case.

Calling acting Chief Minister O Pannerselvam a “boneless wonder”, Swamy claimed that he does not have the support of “even four MLAs, let alone 40 or 45 MLAs”.

Swamy, however, refused to reveal the names of the two ministers, saying he would do it at an appropriate time.

As students in Madras in the 1950s, we used to listen to C N Annadurai on the Marina beach on Sundays. He had half a dozen lieutenants. Altogether, their are total assets at that time were just a few thousand rupees. I see a few of those lieutenants today as old men leading political formations in Tamil Nadu. Their wealth is to be measured in billions. You need a million lifetimes to actually earn such wealth. I need not comment any further. Things are obvious . The story is similar in the rest of India a country where wealth is worshipped as god or goddess irrespective of the manner in which you acquire that wealth. Some politicians have an alternate clever approach. They give large chunks of resources to their businessmen friends who become billionaires. With a dozen billionaire friends, the politician does need to have money of his own.

It is apparant that all the uncertainity in Tamilnadu is the handiwork of the BJP. Agree with the earlier comment that Subramanian Swamy has all along been the Devils Advocate.

I feel pity for the country, when we have educated mass commenting with pre-conceived notion. Swamy may not be liked by all for obvious reasons. But today because of him, a corrupt politician is checked/stopped to ascend the throne and continue further loot.

Should we not credit Swamy for this ?
