'Dum Laga Ke Haisha’ - She gained 15 kg weight for movie, then loses 20 kg


Mumbai, Jan18 (Daily Bhaskar) : Actress Bhumi Pednekar hogged the limelight for her impressive performance in her debut filmDum Laga Ke Haisha, opposite Ayushmann Khurana, in 2015. The actress put on oodles of weight for her role in the film that saw her as an overweight wife of a middle class shop owner, essayed by Ayushman.


While the actress was lauded for accepting a challenging role in her very first film, Bhumi shares that it was not easy for her to gain those extra kilos. “I used to consume 4000 calories a day to put extra weight for the film.” she says.




But now that the movie is over and Bumi is set for her next projects, the lady is back in shape looking well-toned and quite fit. Revealing more about her journey from being fit from fat, she once said, “I simply went back to my normal routine and ghar ka khaana, to lose the extra kilos. Of course I chose low calorie food, going more for channa roti instaed of wheat flour and everything else cooked by my mother. Also, I adopted physical activity like walking and playing badminton."

Post Dum Laga Ke, Bhumi grabbed eyeballs for her slimmer version at various occasions.
Recently too the actress flaunted her svelte figure at the 62nd Filmfare awards. Though she was counted as ‘worst dressed’ in that black Hemakaul fashion label gown, at the do, we simply had our eyes on her toned body. We couldn’t look beyond Bhumi’s hardwork that she must have put in, for her weight loss!
