Bengaluru, Jan 18: A newly recruited sub-inspector (SI) with the Delhi police hailing from Karnataka committed suicide due to depression on Tuesday, January 17.

Thippeswamy (29) from Kenchaginal village, Chennagiri taluk in Davanagere district is the person deceased.
The dead body was found on a railway track in Srinivaspuri in south-east Delhi on Tuesday morning, as per police.

Thippeswamy was an engineering graduate with an MBA degree. He was recruited as an SI three months ago and was undergoing training in Delhi.

Police sources claimed that Thippeswamy committed suicide by jumping before a train between Monday night and early Tuesday morning. A suicide note was found in his pocket. He had taken permission from the Police Training Institute to visit a dentist on Monday evening.

“I am taking my own life as I have been suffering from depression for a very long time. Please forgive me for the pain I am giving you people by this act," read the suicide note.

However, the SI's family has charged that he was bullied by senior officers since he did not understand the language here. “The charges are baseless. His suicide note gives a clear picture,” said Joint Commissioner of Police Dependra Pathak.

Why did he do Engineering and MBA ? To jump before a train ?? ..He might have faced harassment .but suicide is not the solution..Everyone faces harassment in the office..What I have experienced (harassment) in office is too much..I should have jumped 100 times before a train or car...Education did not teach him courage or confidence..Very sad..

The fact is that - Delhi police comes under the Union Home ministry..,

Having very good educational qualification.., and with a language barrier, one must know why the deceased shown his interest to take up law keeping job by joining Police force in Delhi instead of trying in Karnataka (though the deceased is eligible to consider himself where he want to serve as govt servant)

In my view.., It is equally important to know his political background and/or affiliations to self proclaimed patriotic organisations..., (as it is obvious that if one has to believe as per reported news item, that some organizations openly claim that lot of their followers are successful in finding job in the police force).

I do not specifically about the deceased. But an Engineering degree from Ramlal Institute of Technology and an MBA from Shaymlal Institute of Management does not mean much in the job market.

Also the report does not mention that he had a problem with depression which would better explain his suicide than his educational degrees.
