Jeddah: NRI Sports Federation to hold Kabaddi Legaue

Jeddah, Jan 10: In view of the Indian Republic Day celebration, NRI Sports Federation, Jeddah will organize a 'Kabbadi League' on Friday, February 3, at Shababiyah Ground in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.

About 16 teams from various parts of Saudi Arabia including Riyadh, Jeddah, Dammam and Al-Khobar are expected to participate in the league.



The 'Kabaddi League' will serve as an opportunity for Indian expatriates to remember and celebrate the great Indian Republic Day.

The federation has adopted the game Kabaddi for the Republic Day celebration as it is a rustic sport of Indian origin.

About NRI Sports Federation

It is a federation of Non-Residential Indians in Jeddah. The main object of the federation is to promote Indian Sports and Games among Indian Expatriates in Saudi Arabia. It also has an objective of supporting NRI sports talents and attracting NRI students towards Indian sports and games.

A delegation of NRI Sports Federation met the Indian Consulate General in Jeddah, Muhammed Rahman Noor Sheikh, on January 8, and sought his cooperation for the Kabaddi league.
