Bengaluru-Hubballi private bus catches fire- 3 die, 9 injured

Hubballi, Jul 27: A private bus plying between Bengaluru and Hubballi caught fire suddenly and three people died as a consequence on Wednesday, July 27 morning.

The bus had left Bengaluru last night carrying 15 passengers and was supposed to reach Hubballi at 6 am. But an hour before arrival time, it suddenly caught fire at Varur near here.

Short circuit has been said to be the cause for the accident. The air conditioned bus belonged to Durgamba Travels.

Initial reports said that the bus contained some chemicals used for agriculture.
