Dubai: Young artists impress at Pangalites Kids Drawing Contest

Dubai, May 16 : Emirates Pangalites, UAE, an association of Pangalites/Shankerpura residing in the UAE, organized children's drawing competition in three categories under the age group of 4-12 years on Friday, May 6 at Kids Talent Centre, Karama, Dubai.

Having received excellent feedback from parents and children during the previous editions, the drawing competition was organized this year for the sixth time. A total of more than 50 children showed great enthusiasm and displayed their artistic talent on paper with flair of colour and a huge dollop of confidence.

The objective of the drawing competition was to provide an opportunity for children to compete and show their talents, to create awareness of the changing world, discover and display their hidden talents and motivate the budding artists to blossom in the field of art.

The competition was held in three regular groups and a separate group for children with special needs, as below:


The programme was hosted by Vidisha Alva and Cale Dsouza. Association President, Sunil Dsouza welcomed the gathering. The competition was inaugurated by chief guest Joseph Mathias, MD, Merit Freight Systems, along with three children - the first ones to register their names by painting a drawing on the inauguration banner. The chief guest in his speech extended his best wishes to the kids and appreciated their interest to participate.

Rinky Duragkar, former Art teacher from Kids Talent Center & Kalagramam and Madhusudhan, Art Teacher at Melody Makers Dubai were the judges.

The prize distribution ceremony was held at 12 noon. President, Sunil Dsouza escorted the chief guests - Fr. Leslie Dsouza, Parish Priest of St. John the Evangelist Church, Shakerpura, Dayan Dsouza of Daiji Dubai and Nelson Rodricks, a well-wisher along with the judges to the dais. A short review was presented by the judges. They said that the children with their artistic skills were highly competitive and encouraged them to continue with the hobby. They also pointed out the quality time spent by the children for this day leaving aside electronic gadgets which children enjoy a lot these days. They also congratulated the parents for encouraging the children.





































































 

All the participants were awarded with certificates. In each category three prizes were awarded along with two consolation prizes including trophy, cash prize and winning certificate. The prizes for all the categories were presented by the chief guests.

4-6 years category

1st Place - Jaden Aaron Fernandes
2nd Place - Pearl Marisa Cardoza
3rd Place - Poorvi Praveen Shetty

1st Consolation -UvelSachi Fernandes
2nd Consolation - Neil Aran Machado

7-9 years category

1st Place -Simona Tauro
2nd Place -Thrisha Naveen Chandra
3rd Place - Ivor Lasrado

1st Consolation - Aleta Olivia Mascarenhas
2nd Consolation -Simrah Khan Nadeem

10-12 years category

1st Place -Ashel Pearl D'Souza
2nd Place - Ancita Mendonca
3rd Place - Iona Lasrado

1st Consolation -Caryn Pinto
2nd Consolation - Viola Alva

The competition was well appreciated by the chief guests, judges, parents and especially by the parents of special needs children.
The successful competition concluded with the distribution of goody bags to all the participating children.
