Mangaluru: 'Sulige Sikkidaaga' Kannada-Tulu film to premiere on Dec 31

Mangaluru, Dec 28: 'Sulige Sikkidaaga - Be Fluid as Water' is a Kannada short feature film (partly in Tulu) with a duration of 45 minutes directed by Mangalurean Sandeep Malani and stars Bollywood actress Kalpana Pandit in the lead role. The film will be premiered on Thursday December 31 (on New Year’s eve) by Lions Club Kankanady Padil at Aloysius Grounds, Mangaluru. 









The film is a tribute to women empowerment that shows the heroine as a perfect example to overpower all obstacles, difficulties and stand on her own feet. The film shot in Bengaluru and a little portion in the USA, and has a local touch with a few characters speaking Tulu in the film. Also, the famous song 'Daane Ponney’ has been re-composed with a fresh tune with English lyrics added to it.

Kalpana Pandit plays the lead heroine along with three newcomers Vivek Punjabi, Akash Hora and Clement Sequeira playing important lead heroes. Cliff Janke, the executive producer of the film also is seen in the film. The film stars Mangalureans - Meena Malani, Charan Suvarna, Xavier Fernandes, Roseline Sequeira, Ivy Fernandes, Gladwin Fernandes, Silver Malani, Marina Roopa, Priya Noronha and others.

Nitin Acharya has composed two tracks for the film. Edited by Santosh Chawla, with the dialogues written by Lalitha Rajagopal (who also plays a very important role in the film), the film has story by Kalpana Pandit and screenplay and direction by Sandeep Malani.

This is the third project that teams up Sandeep Malani with Kalpana Pandit. The film on HIV AIDS awareness titled 'Jo Jo Laali’ won the team a total of 14 awards and has been screened all over India and at International Film Festivals. The second venture, 'Janleva 555’ (Hindi) had a good run of 150 days in north India.

'Sulige Sikkidaaga' got good reviews and thumbs up from the audience, media and stars in Bengaluru recently, during which Parvathamma Rajkumar appreciated the team for the wonderful work and blessed the film with her good wishes. She was felicitated along with veteran actress Jayanthi and Girija Lokesh who have praised the film to great heights. Also National Award-winning actor Sanchari Vijay was felicitated during the screening of the film.

Along with the film, a musical titled 'Yashraj Heroines De Jayenge’ by Malani Talkies will also have its screening on the New Year's Eve.
