Mangaluru, May 29: The majestic 'Maurishka Palace', the 24th project completed by Land Trades Builders and Developers, was inaugurated by former union minister Dr M Veerappa Moily in a grand event at the project premises in Kadri Kambala road here on Friday May 29.
The inaugural event began with an invocation, followed by a welcome address by Land Trades proprietor Shrinath Hebbar, who said, "I am very happy today. This was my dream project, and the 24th to be completed in short span of time."
Dr Veerappa Moily in his address said, "I have known Shrinath Hebbar since his childhood and I know that he has struggled a lot. He has been able to rise to this level and fight all the odds because of sheer hard work. The fact that he could sell 24 apartment projects shows his salesmanship, the top architecture and quality finish of his projects.
"In life we should have the courage to take up challenges and keep faith. For many years real estate was down in Mangaluru, but now again it has picked up, which is good sign of development. Even though development is important to Mangaluru, its nature and environment should not be affected. Development and environment protection should go hand-in-hand. For the overall development of Mangaluru, there should be a masterplan involving all ministers and departments, so that we can work out a balance between development and environment and focuss on all related issues like land acquisition with equal importance," he said.
"I thank Hebbar for his contribution to the development of the city and wish all success to his future endeavours," he added.
MLA J R Lobo said, Such a wonderful building in such a vast area has been completed in a short span of time. It is a remarkable achievement by Hebbar. Even though he has done such great work, he remains a man of simplicity. Out of 330 flats in this building, 300 are already sold out, which shows the quality he has put in its construction. He is a role model for others. I wish happiness to the people who will live in these flats."
Yenepoya University chancellor Yenepoya Abdulla Kunhi said, "Shrinath Hebbar never compromises on quality. He has won the trust of the people, and that is the reason he has been able to sell flats so easily. I wish all success to his future endeavours and peace and happiness to the occupants of the flats."
Mayor Jacintha Alfred who presided over the programme said, "I thank Shrinath Hebbar on the behalf of the MCC. By following all rules and regulations without any compromise on quality, he has become a role model for others. I thank him for providing such a quality structure for Mangaluru city and wish all success to him."
Architects and engineers of the project were honoured on the occasion.
The event was compered by Manohar Prasad. Mahesh Nayak proposed the vote of thanks.
