Mangaluru, Feb 2: A person died on the spot and another was seriously injured after a fish lorry hit their bike at Adka, Kotekar in Ullal police station limits here on Monday February 2.

The deceased has been identified as Shashidhar Kinya (35).

It is said that Shashidhar was sitting pillion on the bike that was being ridden by his friend Gulshan. At Adka, Kotekar, a fish lorry plying from Malpe to Kasargod rammed into the bike, kiiling Shashidhar on the spot.

Police sources said that negligence and rash driving by the lorry driver caused the accident.

Gulshan was rushed to private hospital in Thokkottu, and later to shifted to a hospital in Mangaluru. His condition is said to be serious.

It is learnt that Shashidhar was a carpenter by profession, and so also Gulshan, and both work in a shop at Uchila. On Monday, there were returning after paying some bills at Thokkottu when the accident took place.

Ullal police have registered a case.
