Antara and Madhuri win KBM quiz competition

Margao, Oct 2: Antara Bhide and Madhuri Marathe of Dhempe College of Arts and Science, Miramar, Panjim won the Adv. Arun Singbal memorial inter higher secondary, college and University level quiz contest organized by Konkani Bhasha Mandal, Goa. They were awarded the rolling trophy, cash prize of Rs 2000, memento and certificates.

Swetang Naik and Omkar Vichundrekar of Institute of Chartered accountants, Goa branch bagged the runners up position whereas the third spot was bagged by Gaurav Gaonkar and Kaushik Desai of G R Kare College of Law, Margao. Aditya Naik and Harsh Hegde of Damodar Higher Secondary School, Margao won the fourth position. They were awarded prizes at the hands of Subhash Phaldesai, MLA of Sanguem constituency.

Dr Rajay Pawar of Government College of Quepem and Navin Khandekar of Ravindra Bhavan, Curchorem were present on the occasion.

The competition was held in association with the Government College of Quepem and Ravindra Bhavan, Curchorem. 36 teams took part in the competition that saw 12 teams qualify for the semis. 4 teams made it to the finals. The quiz was conducted by Yugank Naik and programmed by Pankaj Sinai Nagarsekar. They were assisted by Sohan Sanvordekar and Krupali Naik.

The competition is being sponsored by the family of late Adv Arun Singbal and this is its third year of organising.

Earlier MLA of Curchorem, Nilesh Cabral inaugurated the competition. Present on the occasion were the president of Konkani Bhasha Mandal, Chetan Acharya, secretary Surel Tilve, daughter of late Adv. Arun Singbal, Anwesha Singbal. Supriya Kankonkar compared the inaugural programme.
