Dubai: Vamanjooreans UAE celebrated Monti-Fest with cultural events

Dubai: 14 Sep 2014: A large number of parishioners of Vamanjoor residing in U.A.E. celebrated this year’s Monti-fest at Zamoroda hall in Dubai. The celebration filled with loads of cultural event and entertainment began at @ 12.00pm with the compere of the day Rowena Pereira inviting and welcoming the members and guests. Prior to showering of the flowers Reshma Pinto & team recited a brief prayer invoking Mother Mary’s blessing on all those attended the program, the little children who brought flowers to shower to Mother Mary and family members back home. The little beautifully dressed children along with their parents showered the flowers to the melodious singing of MoriekHogolxiam.

 

 

 

James Mendonca one of the prominent members of Vamanjoor and a leading businessman from Dubai speaks about Vamanjoor. He proudly highlighted various achievements of Vamanjoor and how it has developed from a tiny hamlet to a thriving business and educational center today. Also he spoke about various prominent personalities and artists from Vamanjoor who have excelled in various field of entertainment and literary fields.

In the Cultural events, the Gulf Voice Semi-finalistVinola Sequeira enthralled the audience with her golden voice. All Vamanjooreans wished her best for GVOM singing contestand felicitated her with a floralbouquet. Uae is popular singer Prahanth Pinto, Cynthia Latha D'Souza, Avith Lobo, DensyMenezes, and lovely kids;Lanisha and Delisha enthralled the audience.

The budding youngsters Brian Fernandes and team provided the entertainment with their dances.A short play 'Mujya puthaso kinkulo', written by Late cha Fra D’costa (a well-known writer/poet fromVamanjoor), was enacted by talented Vamanjooreans Lionel, Joylin, Ullas, Delton and Clement which was applauded by the audience.

A few entertaining spot games, a quiz about Vamanjoor, luckey person draw, housie-housie were conducted by Lionel. Secretary Joylin Pinto read the annual report. A delicious lunch was provided by CanaraResturent, Dubai.The grand Monti-fest celebration program was organized under the able leadership of active anddynamic President Johnson Monteiro.On the auspicious occasion the U.A.E. Vamanjooreans honored Antony Martis - who has served as Vamanjoor Choir master and Organ player for the past 20 years. He was honored by Mrs.Placid Mendonca and appreciated his dedicated service to the Vamanjoor church. Program was ended with grand baila by DJ Lancy.
