Bangalore, Sep 9: The annual feast of Nativity of Our Mother Mary was celebrated at St Vincent Pallotti Church, Banasawadi with traditional gaiety and fervour.

The services in Konkani commenced at 10.30 am in the morning at the Church premises with blessing of newly grown sheaves of paddy corn by Fr Jacob Alvares, followed by little Children offering and honouring Mother Mary with flowers and singing of hymns in honour of Mother Mary. Thereafter children along with priests and parishioners proceeded to the Church in a procession with the blessed sheaves of paddy corn to celebrate Holy Mass at 10.45 am. The main celebrant during the Eucharistic Service was Parish Priest Fr Claudi Vaz, who was ably assisted by other priests including Fr Paul D'souza, Fr Jacob Alvares, Fr Victor and Fr Christopher.

Konkani choir group ably supported the Eucharistic Service by singing melodious hymns during the service. The blessed corn was distributed to the parishoners at the end of the service.

Sugarcane was also distributed to the children outside the church after the service along with light refreshments.

President of St Vincent Pallotti Konkani Kutamb Banasawadi, Gracian Tauro proposed the vote of thanks at the end of service.
