One of the major initiates of the archdiocese was the dynamism to educate over 5,000 children through the Asha Charitable Trust with a spending budget of about 1.5 crore annually, the Archbishop said.

Seventy-five years- A DIAMOND JUBILEE IS INDEED A GREAT EVENT in the life and history of any organization or entity. It is heartening to see that The Archdiocese of Bangalore has now completed seventy-five years as an Archdiocese rendering yeomen services to all and to the poor and the needy in particular. Archbishop Bernard Moras who spells success wherever he goes has done a lot for the growth of this great Archdiocese. As he rightly pointed out his predecessors like Archbishop Alfonso Mathias and Archbishop Ignatius Pinto had been greatly responsible for the growth of this Church in every sphere.

It is good to see that Archbishop Salvadore - The Papal delegate made time to attend the great event.

It is heartening to see people from all walks of life being present for the function including top officials from The Police Force. The highlight of the event is the talk by His Excellency Governor Burdwraj who was all praise for the Catholic Church and indeed it was very kind and generous on his part to pay such rich tribute the Christ's teachings.

Archbishop Moras has all along been a man for the poor and he realizes that THE GREATEST GIFT ONE CAN GIVE ANOTHER IS THE GIFT OF EDUCATION and accordingly he has opened an endowment for the education of the poor children and five thousand students are being educated free of cost every year.

I would end by saying kudos to Archbishop Bernard and to his predecessors Archbishop Mathias and Archbishop Ignatius Pinto for their excellent services to The Archdiocese of Bangalore.
