Sanoor Youth Committee celebrates diamond jubilee

Karkala, Aug 27: In a competition held by Sanoor Youth Committee to celebrate their diamond jubilee and Shri Krishna Janmastami to identify ideal married couple, Suresh Moily couple bagged the first prize.

The celebration, consisting of several competitions was held at Sanoor Samaja Mandira premises here on Monday August 26.

Industrialist Ganesh Shetty set the celebrations in motion. Sanoor Public Ganeshotsava Committee president, B Purushothama Gowda, diamond jubilee celebration committee president Praveen Shetty, Postmaster Ramesh Shettigar, Sadananda Shetty Shivakamala, Vishwanatha Shetty Bhamini Ernadka, Mandal president Jagadish Kumar and Secretary Rajesh were present.

The second prize as ideal couple was awarded to Prasad Poojary couple and third prize was handed over to Pravin Shetty Mudaladi couple.

Madhavarao Koodukonaje and Sathyashree Kundapur conducted the programme. Maruti Honnooru and Avinash Kambali assisted them.

Vedamurthi Sriram Bhat, the chief priest of Dendabettu Shree Mahalingeshwara Temple presided over the function and distributed prizes.

The programme was unique as people of other religions also participated in it.

Karkala SVT Education trust’s secretary K P Shenoy, Sanooru grama panchayat president Karunakar Kotian, businessman Santhosh D’ Silva, Sanooru Darga Sharif’s president M S Basheer and Mandala’s president Jagadish Kumar were also present.
