Bantwal: Married woman goes missing under mysterious circumstances

Daijiworld Media Network – Bantwal (SP)

Bantwal, Jul 10: A married woman went missing mysteriously from her residence at Kalkuri in Sangabettu village within the jurisdiction of rural police station here.

She has been identified as Shashikala (29), daughter of Eshwar Naik from Kalkuri.

Shashikala, who was married off two months back, had left her parental home on Monday July 8, for returning to the home of her husband. She did not reach the place of her husband, nor returned to her parents.

The lady’s marriage with Prabhakar from Aladangady in Beltangady taluk was solemnized two months back.

She had visited her parents last week, and had left on Monday for returning to Alandangady.

A complaint in this respect was filed in the rural police station here by her elder brother Neelaiah.

    Gabriel Francis ( Gabbu), Mangalore

    Dear Mr. Simple,

Forced cases might shut all doors of freedom for the spouse to venture out for adventurism. TO marry there can be force exerted by peers n elders.. after marriage there cold be forces at home that make spouse spend life in cage.

If given that there is absolute freedom guaranteed between married couple, there are more chances of deviating from commitment n fall in love with third person. This is no more a fiction today, it is a reality.

Consider a case where a married couple runs a laundry shop. They hav a kid. Husband drinks heavy from morning till night n puffs beedi nonstop. He always like to be in inebriated state of mind. At times he will loose ability to walk, most of nature's calls are happening without his knowledge. Wife irons out cloths n tries to run the family. She exercises maximum patience n responsibility towards her irresponsible husband. Husband now has severe health problem acquired due to his reckless lifestyle. Now wife has to take care of his health. Wife will meet lot of customers at laundry shop and some of the customers sympathise with her and win her confidence in the name of helping her. Now she also feels enough is enough. She is not responsible for her husbands life. She will make a bold decision to move on with life. And she Does. Her husband now is in pathetic situation.

Now, what do u infer ? This is a real life-story I came across.

A newly married bride is accompanied by someone from either side when she leaves or returns to her in-laws house. This is an age-long tradition. I don't know why it was there but the brides looked happy to be accompanied by somebody.

Why was Shashikala alone during her travel ? Did she have some problems that she came to tell her parents who hushed her up and commanded her to return to her in-laws ?

Need to wait for more news.

How cheap mentality some people do posses, just imagine the agony of her family members. If she has gone with her own wish let her, if some thing un wanted happen to her then what will be the case. People just imagine if this happens in your own life.

    gabbu, Mangalore,

Married couples are not becoming notorious, as you say.
They are made to become like that by forceful marriages\unwanted marriages by their family and relatives.
If a couple consent willingly and these things happen then it is the fault of these couples.
If parents\uncles\mother's brothers force girls marry whom they want, later girls will do what they want, as they are not happy with the one she was married to.
By doing that they are spoiling the culture too.
Those were the days when they could just tell the girl who she should marry,
Those are bygone days. They are better educated. Advisable to take girls into confidence before getting them married to avoid all these unwanted things later on.
