Mangalore, Feb 11: It was an action-packed day at Thiruvailuguttu, Vamanjoor here on Sunday February 10, as Sankupoonja-Devupoonja Jodukere Kambala saw hundreds of buffaloes and their trainers race to glory.

Gopal Krishna Bhat, chief temple priest of Vamanjoor temple inaugurated the event.

Buffaloes from near and far were featured in the slush track event. Huge crowd flocked to the venue to watch and cheer on the participants.

A Sadanand Shetty, president of Sri Devi Group of Institutions, Chitaranjan Rai, Shivanna Shetty, Gunapala Kadamba, MCC member Bhaskar Moily, Shashidar Heggde, Damodar Shetty Kadambilaguttu, honorary president of Kambala committee, Naveen Chandra Alva Thiruvailuguttu, president, Praveenchandra Alva Thiruvailuguttu, chief secretary, Rajkumar Shetty, treasurer, Seetharam Janu Shetty, Padmanab Shetty, Jagadeesh Shenava among others were present.

    wow KAMBLA is wonderful event but.. But.. funniest things can be seen Pic 16-19, these police are don’t know where to do the duties, they try to move away the buffalo handlers but buffalo handlers try to explain the police why they standing over there(pic 16-17), still police never listen to them. At last see the situation of these police…(pic18-19) either they are not able to run or handle the buffaloes….

    Very nice captured pics from daiji. I love that 16-18 pics...look at the cops.only tulunadda mannda maga can hold the buffaloes not a cops.Real energy power needed to run and hold these buffaloes.

    Indeed wonderful event at Thiruvailguthu Kambala. Its a new double track and many buffaloes have taken part in racing. The race is very humouras to watch as it thrills the crowd who have come from far off places to watch the race. Even foreigners have attended to see the thrilling race. Really great.
