Jacintha Case : Autopsy Report Confirms Nurse Committed Suicide, 3 Notes Found

London, Dec 13 (PTI): The autopsy report of the Indian origin nurse, Jacintha Saldanha, who was found hanging in UK after being duped by a prank call from two Australian DJs, is now out. The report says the nurse committed suicide. According to the report, Saldanha was found hanging by the neck from a scarf on a wardrobe door in her room. She was found dead by a colleague and a member of the security staff at London's King Edward VII Hospital on Friday.

The report says three suicide notes were found in her room and also emails have been recovered which suggested that she was planning the suicide. The report also said injury marks were found on the nurse's wrist. The inquest proceedings have now been adjourned till March 26, 2013.

Meanwhile, the husband of Jacintha Saldanha has informed Indian mission in London that he would like the body to be sent to India. "Husband of Jacintha has informed that he would like the body to be sent to India. Our Mission is in touch with the husband of Saldanha and is assisting in smooth completion of various formalities involved in it, official sources in the Ministry of External Affairs said.

The report says emails have also been recovered which suggested that she was planning the suicide.

46-year-old Jacintha, a mother of two, was found unconscious last Friday in the quarters of the King Edward VII Hospital in central London where she was working as a senior nurse. She was pronounced dead when rushed to the hospital.

Jacintha had answered the hoax call at 5.30 AM on December 5, and was helping out on the reception at the time of the prank call. Giggling DJs Mel Greig and Michael Christian were pretending to be the British Queen and Prince Charles and asked her if they could be put through to Kate.

Then she connected them to another nurse who gave out details of the condition of 30-year-old Kate who was suffering from acute morning sickness at the London hospital. The exact cause of the death remained unclear.

JS was not a Indian Citizen when she committed suicide.
When one denounces Indian citizenship to embrace another citizenship, they lose their right to ask the Indian Government to interfere. I saw people here blaming Indian Govt. for not taking early action in this case.

Since she is a citizen of UK, that Govt. will do the necessary investigations as per their regulations.

Apparently the Police have handed the family 'the typed copies' of the 'handwritten' letters to her family- WHY? Why not just copy the handwritten letters on a copier? The family should ask for the handwritten letters to verify or a writing expert involved. 3 suicide notes, why 3? Early morning, she seems so busy writing notes, at work? Committing suicide at work, very very interesting- why turn up for work if you are planning to take your life...this is not suicide, I do not know the culprits but very worrying...if the modern developed state sanctions murder in this way.

This is from Daily Mail. It is very clear that the hospital Management lied in the begining and said they supported the nurses. The news article says. It is her senior Colleagues. Why they targeted Jacintha not the one who gave the information? We all know.

The nurse found dead following a hoax call to the hospital treating the Duchess of Cambridge criticised senior colleagues over her treatment in one of three suicide notes, it has emerged.
An inquest heard that Jacintha Saldanha, 46, left three emotional suicide notes following the prank call by Australian DJs Mel Greig and Michael Christian.
But it has emerged today that in one of the notes she has criticised colleagues at the King Edward VII hospital over her treatment following the controversial call.
It is believed this note has left her grieving family furious, with husband Ben Barboza understood to want an inquiry into the hospital.
He is also believed to be wanting an independent investigation into what happened in the days leading up to her death.
Speaking to the Daily Mirror, a source close to the family said: 'One of the letters, which is the longest, deals with the hospital and is critical in its tone.
'Needless to say, Ben wants a full inquiry into what happened and he wants to make sure the truth comes out.
'Within the letter, Jacintha calls into question some of the treatment she received at the hospital.'
In another note, the mother-of two describes how she struggled to come to terms with the prank call by the two Australian DJs. The third and final letter is practical and deals with her funeral plans.

Jacintha's family are under tremendous sorrow and pain. Just like all of us I am sure they are angry and helpless.
If Jacintha is a UK citizen, UK government will have more say in any matter related to this. No one can question them. The government will support the hospital and hide the truth from the public. There are many foreigners working in NHS and the government wants more power for the hospitals to run the system. In UK the system is more important than the person.

Mr Keith Vaz should be commended for taking the lead to question the hospitals and support the family. Mr Vaz is a real gentleman.
If there is a provision, PR firm should be hired and all events from the time Jacintha got the call and till her death should be put together. All closed circuit tvs, electronic access system should be analysed who entered the nursing quarters. I have lived in bachelors accomodation provided for the doctors. We had very small rooms with common TV room and the kitchen. It is not easy to scream for help or run out from these type of buildings.
I read that family was given typed copy of suicide notes. Why cant they give a scanned copy or Xerox copy.?
We all knew it is the hospital management which is responsible for Jacintha's death. If they wanted to help her as per their claim, they could have sent Jacintha on paid leave or atleast called her husband and notified about the call. Is this the way to care for a person who worked sincerely for so many years, saved so many lives?
Politicians/governments/Royals/powerful rule the world and the innocent victims will remain helpless and suffer. Why?

May Jacintha Saldanha's soul rest in peace. This is a cold blooded murder by making her write suicide notes and to send mails hands tied and hanging to ward robe with scarf after half killing may be by rivals of the Royal family to bring shame upon them by creating a situation suitable for murder of an innocent staff of the hospital where the Royal ties were admitted. This case needs thorough investigation to find out the truth. Otherwise such kind of situations may repeat like the tragic death of late Princess Diana. Fame also is connected with such kind of acts by some people. Every body does not think alike. This Royal family and the people in it need enhanced protection. Otherwise every day we may have to read such stories.

One of three apparent suicide notes left by the nurse at the centre of the royal hoax phone call criticised staff at the King Edward VII hospital where she worked, the Guardian has learned. One note deals with the hoax call by the DJs from 2Day FM, another details her requests for her funeral, and the third addresses her employers, the hospital, and contains criticism of staff there, the Guardian understands from two separate sources. The Labour MP Keith Vaz, who is acting as a spokesman for Saldanha's husband and two children, published a letter from him to John Lofthouse, chief utive of the King Edward Vll hospital, calling for the "full facts" of what happened to be given to the family.Earlier this week the nurse's family met Lofthouse and handed over a list of questions they want answered. Vaz said in his letter to Lofthouse: "I have dealt with similar cases in the past and I would agree with the prime minister that the family need to get the full facts, from the time she took the call from 2Day FM to the time she was found in her accommodation.

"The family gave you a list of questions that they wish the hospital to answer so that they can have the full facts of the case. I know they would appreciate answers to their questions in writing as soon as possible. They may also have additional questions." Harman told the coroner: "You will be aware of the wider circumstances of this case. And I expect in the very near future we shall be in contact with colleagues in New South Wales to establish the best means of putting the evidence before you."
A spokeswoman for the hospital said no one in senior management knew what the contents of the notes left by Saldanha were. She said the hospital management "were very clear that there were no disciplinary issues in this matter".

Both the nurses involved had been offered "full support" and "it was made clear they were victims of a cruel journalistic trick," she said. He said he had passed on the coroner's comments. The family were grateful to the coroner's office and Metropolitan police, he added.

A memorial service will be held in Bristol. A mass will be held in the chapel at Westminster Cathedral on Saturday.

It is really surprising if somebody would commit suicide for transferring the prank call. She picked the call and just transferred the call. Another nurse who was an idiot spoke to them without recognizing them (their accent was very silly) gave all the info. Definitely there is something hospital hiding and they had good opportunity to blame on Australian DJs. Trust me these kind of prank call never kill anybody it was just for fun, They did not make fun of Jacintha Saldanha. Also she died after 3 days this prank call broadcast in the radio. I would agree with other commentators that mother of 2 would not commit suicide for this prank call where she was not main part of it.

I have a wardrobe here, If I hang more clothes the rod itself comes down. Here jecinthas weight not less than 50 kgs I believe. Can a wardrobe rod tolerate 50 kgs of weight, since it is made to hang only clothes, not heavy objects.

This autopsy report by British investigators, who boast their Scotland Yard is the number one in the world, is the most unconvincing and unsatisfactory. One note multiplied into three notes plus emails, all indicating that she was planning suicide. Were these emails sent or just drafted to be sent? If these were sent emails, then there must have been immediate replies (from the receivers) advising her not to commit any tragic act. And to whom were the emails addressed?

Secondly and most importantly what about the other nurse to whom the hoax call was passed and who practically revealed the patient's details or the so-called royal secrets? Why has she not come in the picture? Further the role of the hospital management, if any, which led to her death, whether it was suicide or homicide, has to be ascertained. Was she threatened with termination or disciplinary action? Was she pressurized into accepting her unjustified guilt? There many such questions which need to be given satisfactory answers. This report seems to be totally biased made at the behest of the British royals. Therefore our own investigating agencies must pursue the case if real truth is to be found out. Otherwise the truth will always remain a secret.

Do you think Royal family is greater than her own children and her husband? This is totally rediculous story from British police. No mother or father will commit suicide for such a silly prank call ignoring thier children. If Jacintha felt shame for attending prank call, she would have returned back to India with her family. Here some thing is missing, which British cops are not ready to disclose. Indian Government must act seriously to find out the truth behind the death of Jacintha.

Thre Report from Inspector James Harman smells fishy. He said he will interiew friends, family, and colleagues but not the Hospital Management who traumatized her. "There are unexplained circumstances. The family want to know everything. All the facts, fully and clearly. The hospital needs to be more proactive, a full inquiry is needed and the family need to be included in that."

The British are an ugly bunch. They have not told us what exactly went wrong with hospital security procedures for patients, especially high profile ones. They did not say what the hospital did to the poor nurse nor what the Windsor had complained about the incident. It was a joke, very funny because the accent was not even remotely credible. The nurse was a relative new-comer to the west and she did not pick up on that. Why on earth did the hospital put her there at reception in the first place.

A few questions arise in our mind. First of all what is height of the wardrobe and how can that wardrobe handle the body weight of Jacintha Saldanha.
Usually the clothes are hanged in the wardrobe which has no weight compared to the weight of Jacintha Saldanha's body.

The wife and mother of two also had injuries to her wrists, according to police detective chief inspector James Harman.

Harman told the coroner's inquest that two notes were found at the scene and a third was discovered among Saldanha's belongings.
He did not release the contents of the notes.

This report is not true. Truth is hiding behind the scene. Is this is not a suicide, or is it a murder. According to Inspector James Harman he says she sent emails saying that she was planning for suicide.

Are the British police are fooling the people around the Globe. There is no suspicion of foul play in Saldanha's death,Inspector Harman said. Investigators are still trying to piece together exactly what led to her suicide, and are now interviewing her friends, family and co-workers to find more information, Harman said. The 46-year-old nurse who worked at London's King Edward VII Hospital was discovered Dec. 7 hanging by a scarf from a wardrobe in her bedroom, Coroner's Officer Lynda Martindill told a British inquest.

The wife and mother of two also had injuries to her wrists, according to police detective chief inspector James Harman. Harman told the coroner's inquest that two notes were found at the scene and a third was discovered among Saldanha's belongings.

After 4 days the note was found. Where was the note until then. After 8 days published found hanging, why not on the very first day it was not reveled. Hospital surely must have camera everywhere. Why they don't see the footage. Only it says note & email found. Does not say what the note & the email says. Also only jacintha is in the picture why not the other nurse who gave the report. Please publich the actual truth not the stories.

If Jacintha had to take such a drastic step on her own would not she first confide with her husband and children ? Something has drastically gone wrong here and smells fishy. This is a very good case of "murder or forced murder". There are no two ways about it.

Now the Police have found 3 notes .Earlier it was 1 note. Do the British Police think we Indians are " real idiots " ?

Justice Katju too has said that only 90% are idiots. So the remaining 10% are sane not to believe the Scotland yard Police version.

Christian nurses from South Kanara ( which I know ) are THE BEST IN THE WORLD. There is no doubt about it.

I can’t believe this. Marks on her wrist . tied up to the wardrobe. Unbelievable!!!!. Anything is possible in high profile people. Until Tuesday, they did not allow her family to see her body. Must be someone had made her forcibly to write the suicide note ( as they like and made her to send the e-mails) May Jacinta’s soul rest in peace. I am christen I shouldn’t talk but I am sorry. Hope Jancitha soul come in this world ( like Bhoot film) and reveal the truth. I suspect it’s a murder not suicide. Our fellow Indian’s in UK are very quiet because if they open their mouth, they lives and stories will be same like our beloved late Jacintha. Our Indian Govt should take interest. If you read yesterday’s news on DailyMail..com , MP Keith Vaz was very upset he wrote: ‘I am concerned and disappointed that Southern Cross Austereo appears to have not taken any steps to assist the family.
‘There has been no written apology, no request for a meeting with the family and no attempt to travel to the United Kingdom to express contrition.’
Lets all pray for Jacintha soul and also for her family to bear this uncountable pain.

This is not a Suicide its Murder..
injury on wrist, 3 emails recovered, sucide notes, these things have been created practically to confirm to be a suicide case..EVERYTHING HERE IS FALSE. Better if indian govt puts more pressure to press charges & carry a detailed investigation, otherwise this case will be lost forever.

What an elaborate cover up! Any thing is possible when the British Royal family is involved, with the clout they have. The injuries on her wrist suggest that her hands were tied/handcuffed and she was murdered. How would a mother of two beautiful children commit suicide? Not believable at all!

Surprising is Jecintha just passed on the call no mention has been made about the nurse who shared the details to the DJs. This matter was under discussion, all staff assured support, after that what happened real mistery!!! Other side sad that no one was available to Jecintha to share her agony. Pray that truth is revealed to the world though we will not get her back.

Oh my Good Lord! What a twist in this case! She was found unconcious by the collegues earlier, now she was found dead after hanging herself! First day no news about any note, now they found 3 notes! Strange! Earlier there wasn't any cut on the wrist! these many days needed to find a cut on the wrist! Now she is dead, so she is no more to tell us what exactly had happened to her. Only God knows each & Everything. Only believe in God. Atleast have Fear Of God, all those who involved in this case. No One Is ABOVE GOD. Soon the Truth will be Out.Praying for her soul. May her soul Rest In Peace.

From 1 note it graduated to 3 notes. Is it a miracle like the " magic chappathi " ?

There is something very fishy in this whole episode.

Its so unfortunate that this has happened to Jacintha...I send my symphaties to her family ...although I am following this case since the day I read it on the diajiworld news...I thought she could be either from goa or mangalore...I hope justice would be done as soon as possible to the sould of the departed and to the family members who have lost her..I really cannot understand why she took this drastic step..if she actually did...May he sould rest in peace now.

    Something creats more doubts.
How it is possible to hang a ward robe?

'hanging by the neck from a scarf on a wardrobe door'
    They detected something was immpossible.
God only shows the truth and light.

Once again Autopsy report in India could rest all speculation. About E- mail and injury in the wrist also could be analysed once mortal remains reaches INDIA.Mystery of death remained as mystery till India clears all scientific test and analysis.

As the cause of death is still unclear as per your report, it sounds disturbing to ridicule the DJ's in Australia for their prank, even after reading her suicide notes and checking the nurse's emails if they still find the suicide unclear, benefit of doubt should be given to the alleged accused.
