Mangalore, Nov 28: Sanjeevini 2012, the voluntary BLOOD DONATION CAMP organized by AIMIT B-School commenced at 9 a.m. on 28th Nov., 2012 with a wonderful quote “You make a living by what you get. You make a life by what you give.”

Ms. Sumitha Achar the faculty coordinator introduced the dignitaries of Sanjeevini 2012, Dr. Nithish Bhandari, the chief guest of the day, Lion K C Prabhu, the guest of honor, Rev. Fr. Denzil Lobo SJ, the director, Rev. Dr. Oswald Mascarenhas SJ, the chairman, MBA program, Dr. Rowena Wright, the MBA dean academics, Mr. Hedly D’souza, the student coordinator  and welcomed the gathering.


































Sanjeevini 2012 was inaugurated by the chief guest Dr. Nithish Bhandari, Associate Professor, A J Institute of Medical Sciences who gave his insights on blood donation and its importance, as well as the eligibility for blood donation.

Rev. Dr. Oswald Mascarenhas SJ took over the proceedings by giving his insights on blood and the value it possessed in the earlier centuries.

Rev.Fr. Denzil Lobo SJ narrated an inspiring story of our patron St. Aloysius of Gonzaga and his sacrifice towards protecting the humanity which had been infested by plague. Rev. Fr. Denzil Lobo SJ told that students of St. Aloysius College help humanity by donating blood and contributing towards saving life.

Lion K C Prabhu, the Vice Governor, District 317 D, shared his experience of Sanjeevini 2011 and encouraged everyone to participate in this noble cause. He motivated the youths to form groups and guide the society towards prosperity.

The inauguration ceremony was concluded by the student coordinator Mr. Hedly D’Souza.  Two hindered students of AIMIT donated blood. The blood donation camp was sponsored by various LIONS Associations and other donors.

To promote  Sanjeevini-2012, street plays by a team of MBA students were conducted in and around Beeri to convey the message “Donate blood today – Gift life tomorrow”. The street play conveyed messages on various facts related to blood donations and created awareness among public regarding the important and benefits of donating blood periodically.

The students of AIMIT, under the guidance of faculty, actively participated in the street play, performing at three major locations like Beeri Junction, Someshwara beach and Deralakatte junction. The streetplay was started  by 4.30 pm at Beeri junction, followed  by Someshwara beach and Deralakatte junction, attracting masses especially students and youth. The need, importance and benefits of donating blood and help sustain life was depicted in the streetplays conveying the message in all major local languages. All the details were announced in Kannada and other languages like Hindi, Tulu,  Konkani, Malayalam and Beary to reach the masses.
