Mangalore: Father Muller Nurse Killed in Accident at Kadri

Daijiworld Media Network - Mangalore (BG)

Mangalore, Sep 15: In a tragic incident, a nurse was killed in an accident at Kadri when her two-wheeler collided with a tempo.

The accident took place opposite Abharan Jewellers in Kadri here on Saturday September 15 evening.

The deceased has been identified as Asha Lavina Lobo nee Serrao(34), a nurse at Father Muller Medical College Hospital.

Eyewitnesses said that the accident took place when Asha, who was riding her two-wheeler (KA 19 E H 4669), tried to avoid hitting a parked Bolero on the side of the road and collided into the tempo (KA 20 H 6265) ahead.

Asha was married to Valerian Rajesh Lobo, a resident of Kavoor Katte. The couple has two children  Relvyn Rishel Lobo (10) and Roshni Riola Lobo (6).

Kadri east police have registered a case.

Here in Kuwait where i live anyone parking on the road blocking a regular lane will get a big fine so that he will remember the pain of paying that money for his life..do we have or even if we have is it followed strictly? when we start implementing these rules only then we can prevent this kind of unfortunate death..the bolero owner and the traffic patrol of that area are to be blamed for this death..

Though I do not know the exact spot of the accident, the road between the circle near Vas Bakery till Kadri junction is sometimes confusing to motorists. This is mainly because of incomplete concrete road. And even the junction near Abharan Jewelers too is accident prone as vehicles ply at high speed. Though there is no parking allowed on the road side, many people coming to the municipal building park vehicles on the roadside for easy access to the building. Traffic Dept. should deal with this with priority to avoid casualties.

Deep condolence to Asha Lavina's family.

Owners of the vehicles should be booked for parking vehicles on roads. Motorists find hard to maneuver the vehicles, especially when crossing two vehicles on the spot parallel to the parked car. The other main worry of the public is the lack of pedestrians' walk-way through out the city. People are forced to use the main streets risking their lives.

MCC and PWD should address these issues and resolve them immediately in the interest of public's personal safety.

people will die and we as a spectator write our condolenses then we forget who actually died and when they died.If i am not wrong this was the secong tragedy at this place in recent times. Some time back a young man from Shakthinagar riding on again two wheeler collided with truck and met an end. In that instance reason was drunken truck driver. Here again two wheeler met an end trying to avoid parked vehicle. This is a concrete road without parking slot. When i gone to India recently i wondered how traffic cops allow parking infront of hotel Shivbhag.
Its the work of social media like Daijiworld to raise these issues with the concerned authority and follow it time and time upto problems like these solved. Sympathy goes to kids who lost their mother. A husband can get new wife but kids never get their own mom.

This is the 3rd accident at this place in as many months. Initially a Maruti van caught fire, then a tipper ran over a scooterist and now this. Bereft of parking spaces, many people double park while going to Hotel Shivabagh, Dolphin Hotel & Wine & Spirits. The following has to be introduced immediately:
    1. There is a desperate need of introducing speed breakers at the Shivabagh cross-road since vehicles coming on the main road do not slow down but just speed through.
    2. The circle in front of HDFC bank has to be a proper circle like Nanthur and not an obstruction.
    3. There are a lot of vehicles that take a short cut at the road going to Kadri Kambala instead of going around the State Bank, Mallikatte Circle.
Hope the RTO & traffic police take note of this.

On that particular stretch from Dolphy rest. To Abharna jewellers the vehicles are dangerously parked. No action whatsoever is taken. Yes so many accidents have taken place. It is time that MCC looks after and provides the parking space for vehicles and footpath for pedestrians. Corporator Gretta please look into this.

We deeply sympathise with the bereaved family.
may her soul rets in peace.
Though we are a developing country -we are loosing precious lives just because of our incompetence -India cannot build one good road worthy of talking about.
what happens to our engineers -builders- contractors and all involve d-is any one responsible.
There is no clear specification or definition for aso called Road and transport system in our nation.
During the british rule system was good- roads were good -quality is still holding good.
what have we achieved.daily loosing precious and innocent lives?
    who is answerable?
Time to call Europeans or Japanese to build roads for our country- expressways- highways- town roads- by lane with most strict ana stringent specifications and quality Any one not abiding these conditions should be hung on the same road like in Iran or beheaded as in Saudia. or shot like in china.
    what do any one care.?
unless they lose one of their family members.
Change the entire municipality/city /corporation staff and recruit qualified and experienced staff with accountability.
Let the roads be monitored with proper traffic police force. with cameras.
Build proper city roads not snaking or curving but straight and clean -clear roads like in malaysia- singapore - japan.
Our Engineers should visit there or get trained under them to build and manage road system.
Or bring back the british to show us how to build good roads like in Europe.
    This is absolute joke-
Many more innocent lives will be sacrificed
    owing to these pathetic conditions.
Let the -corporations- city - municipality-taluka-panchayath officers first get educated -trained overseas with stringent quality control methods anad then take charge
let public be in charge for their actions.
stop killing people like these tragic accidents -which can very well be stopped now,.
Introduce systems like in USA-UK-EUROPE-JAPAN .
India has the worst and most crooked roads or rudiments of roads .shame

The parked Bolero owner, Mangalore RTO along with the MCC are equally responsible for the shocking death of an innocent victim yet again.

This can only happen in Mangalore where death after death caused by fatal accidents occur in the same location , and life goes on like normal, without any concrete action taken by the authorities to
avoid loss of innocent lives in future.
People agitate over a 5 rupees hike in Diesel price, for diesel, which is abused by the rich SUV owners.
The real and urgent agitation should be carried out towards parked vehicles specially on this road which is responsible for 3 innocent lives in such a short span.
Any vehicle parked on this road should be immediately confiscated and stict action taken on the vehicle owners who are responsible for such calamities to take place at regular intervals.

Daijiworld and the broader media can help by focussing hard with pictures of these vehicles parked on this road with their number plates, so that action can be taken against the insensitive people who park their vehicles on this particular road.

I am sure that particular Bolero owner has not even realized that by just parking his vehicle on that fatal road, an innocent victim has lost her life.

WILL ANYONE TAKE IMMIDIATE ACTION PLEASE , BEFORE ANOTHER INNOCENT VICTIM LOSES HIS OR HER LIFE.

Very tragic may her Soul rest in Peace and God give strength to the family to bear the loss. No one will question the Balero where it might have been parked on the wrong place.Instead of avoiding the Balero it would have been better for Lavina to hit the Balero where the injuries might have been leen less and saved herself. Lesson learnt dont avoid hitting the wrongly parked vehicle, to hit a oncoming vehicle.
