Kundapur: Young Talent Comes to the Fore at Jaycees Week

Kundapur, Sep 12: ‘Jaycee Week’, a week-long cultural programme has been organized by the Junior Chamber International (JCI), Kundapur.

On the first day of Jaycee week, JCI, Kundapur honoured two people at Rotary Laxmi Narasimha auditorium, namely Vijay S Poojary, a popular blood donor and Vishwanath Ganigarige, a national-level weightlifter. Vijay is also the standing committee president at the town municipality.

Speaking on the occasion, John D’Souza, senior journalist said that the JCI organization plays an important role in the society. More importance is given to youths as their creativity and personality is showcased, he added.

B Appanna Hegde, managing director of Sri Mahalingeshwara temple in Basrur, Hussain Haikadi, Abhinandana A Shetty, Girish Hebbar, Trivikrama Pai, K Karthikeya, president of JCI, Kundapur, Venkatesh Prabhu, Raghavendra Charana, former president, Sridar Suvarna, Ashwini Puranik, Nagesh Navada, Charan Suvarna, Jayalaxmi Pai, Manjula Vishnu Prasad, Sathish Poojary among others were present.

Chandrakanth, secretary delivered the vote of thanks.

Suvarna brothers and group and Adiga Chande Balaga Ulthoor showcasted their talent through 'Chande Jugalbandi' which enthralled the audience.

As part of Jaycee cultural programme, JCI organized a fashion show competition under the guidance of Sathish Poojary. In the boys category, Neramballi Viraj Acharya bagged first place and Ravindra Shetty was second. In the girls category, Neramballi Vimarsha Acharya won the first and Chaira H from Hemmadi came second.
