Dubai: Thrilling Social Drama to Mark Daiji Dubai 13th Anniversary

Daijiworld Media Network - Dubai

Dubai, Mar 26 : 'Ami Nathlyaa Velaar', a thrilling social drama, originally a Marathi play by Madhussodhan Kallelkar, later translated to Kannada by Ramananda Choorya, and then to Konkani by well-known playwright Richie Pereira, Derebail, will mark the 13th anniversary of 'Daiji Dubai' Konkani Writers' Forum in UAE on April 13 at the Sheikh Rashid Auditorium.

The play is based on a true life story of a navy commander and his family, which became a sensational case in Maharashtra back in 1959. This play has created a record by staging over 5000 shows in Marathi, Kannada, Konkani and Tulu.

Dayan D'Souza, a talented actor and director, and founder member of Daiji Dubai, will direct the play and play a key role himself.

The tickets for the show were already released last week. This would be the first major entertainment event for Konkani theatre lovers immediately after the lent season.

Along with Dayan D'Souza, Walter Nandalike, Asha Correa, Reegan Fernandes, Alphonse D'Souza, Alwyn Pinto, Ramcy Fernandes, Nanu Marol, Cynthia Pinto, Godwin Castelino, and Laveena Fernandes will feature in the play.

Speaking to daijiworld, director Dayan D'Souza said, "'Ami Nathlya Velaar'  is expected to create a mark in the Konkani theatre in UAE, as huge efforts have been put to present this drama. Punchy dialogues, the storyline with a moral and the thrill will be key factors of this drama. There will be some innovation introduced in the play."

Dubai's talented music director Kethan will provide the music, while well-known Konkani writer-director and actor Pradeep Barboza will assist Dayan D'Souza in direction.

The three-hour non-stop play will start at 6 pm.

More details on this event will be put online in the coming days.

Please note that Richie Pereira is not the writer of the play.He is a translator. Then why did you put in your leaflet "Boroinnar : Richie Pereira"? It should be Tarzanndar or Anuvadak. The credit should go to the original writer of the play.
