Konkani Devotional Hymns by
Fr Francis Cornelio &  Melwyn Peris

Mangaluru: 'Tujea Templant' CD released by  Fr Mathew Vas

Mangaluru, Nov 7: 'Tujea Templant', a CD of devotional songs, was released by Fr Mathew Vas, parish priest of Guardian Angel Church Angelore,  at Angelore church on Sunday November 5.

The CD contains 17 hymns of various types composed by Fr Francis Cornelio and Melwyn Peris. This happens to be the 20th volume of devotional hymns to have been brought out by Sangeeth Ghar.

The duo has a long list of hit CDs containing devotional hymns. Some of them are 'Ga Tum Jibe', 'Yeiya Gaya', 'Horsun Gavyan', 'Kallza Ulo', 'Dinvas', Stuthi Gavyam','Swadhik Mog', 'Tuje Kurpen' and the current one, 'Tujea Templant'.

Several of their hymns are being used in churches in India and some Gulf countries as well during Eucharistic celebrations. Sangeeth Guru Joel Pereira had arranged music for this CD. Singers, Melwyn Peris, Nihal Tauro, Shilpa Cutinha, Zeena Pereira, Prescilla Sequeira, Mahima Rasquinha, Bindu Cutinha, Kate Pereira, and Lona Pinto are on Soprano, Edith D'Souza and Sangeetha Peris on Alto, Stephen Cutinha, Rynel Sequeira and Joywan D'Souza on Tenor and Bass, and sung by Frank Sequeira.

During the release of the CD, Fr Mathew Vas made special mention about Melwyn's contribution towards devotional hymns and requested music lovers to buy the original CD and support Melwyn, as bringing out a musical CD is an expensive affair now-a-days.
