Judith Mascarenhas (85), former deputy mayor, Mangaluru City Corporation, daughter of the late Louis (Aloysius) Mascarenhas and the late Mary Magdeline, sister of Benedict, Sr Jose Marie, Sr Terese, Sr Noelline and Sr Olive (AC Sisters), passed away on January 9, 2017.

Mortal remains will be brought to the residence 'The Flowerette', Comd George Martis Road, Mallikatta on Wednesday January 11 for public homage from 1 pm to 2.30 pm.

Funeral cortege leaves residence at 2.45 pm to St Sebastian Church, Bendore followed by public homage from 3 pm to 3.30 pm. Mass at 3.30 pm followed by burial at Bendore cemetery.

I am very very sad to hear about the sad demise of our loving Judy teacher.The day I stepped into capitanio highschool in '70s I started admiring my maths teacher.It is she who instilled in our minds that maths is not a hard nut to crack and we always enjoyed her class.She made sure that each and every student excel in maths.she had a great compassion for poor children.About her social work I do not know where to start nd where to end.She was a ocean of social activities.

Judith was a star of Mangaluru/Mangalore, a rare gem as a politician, an outstanding social worker who has touched and improved the lot of a large number of marginalized people of all communities in and around Mangalore.
