Ivan was a gifted Konkani singer with a melodious voice. He had lent his voice to several music albums of well-known music-writers and had sung at several musical shows.

About Ivan:

With the untimely demise of 'Mohammad Rafi' of Konkani Ivan Noronha, an era of melodious singing has come to an abrupt end. Ivan will always be remembered for his melodious singing. Ivan's richness lay in a voice that had the listeners asking for more everytime he appeared on stage or lent his voice for an album.

Speaking to Daijiworld, Ivan's long-time pal and another Konkani stalwart Melwyn Peris said that, Ivan's death has created a void in Konkani music world, which cannot be filled in. Melwyn and Ivan grew up singing together right from a very tender age. Ivan was a regular singer for Melwyn Nites as well as his music albums. Some of Melwyn superhit songs such as 'Sofiya', 'Sylvia', 'Chintinatlem Ghaddlem', 'Sopnnatlim Chali' ‘Lhanponna’ were sung by Ivan.

Ivan was also a regular singer for Eric Ozario's initiative 'Rang Tarang'. One of Mick Max's hit songs 'Lutlamgay Konne' was originally sung by Ivan.  He had to his credit 'Maria' song composed by Henry D'Souza.

However, owing to his failing health, he had been away from singing for the last 4-5 years. Though he had a keen desire to resume his musical journey, his health did not permit. Of late his health condition had worsened. It was only a few days ago that he had been admitted to hospital. He was discharge a couple of days later. But his condition got worst once again and he was admitted to KMC hospital. But he did not recover. He was shifted to Fr Muller Hospital recently where he breathed his last on Saturday December 6 morning.
