Jerald D' Souza (68) (Secretary of Indian Masters Athletic Association), son of the late Marcel D'Souza & the late Angela D'Mello, husband of Stella (Stephania D'Souza), father of Roshan /Jasmine, Sheila /Max and Jason / Zeena, brother of the late Dr Sylvester (Panja), the late (Dr) Fr John D'Souza Allahabad Diocese), the late Benjamine (PET St Aloysius College, Mangaluru), Sr Giampaula (Charity Sister, Barkur), the late Peter (Thane), Sr Lynette UFS (Deralakatte), Maria Castelino (Udyavar) and Elizabeth (Nagori), grandfather of Kevin, Nicole, Joshua and Ethan, nephew of the late Bishop Raymond D'Mello ( Allahabad / Mangalore ), cousin of Fr Walter D'Mello (Mangalore diocese), the late Fr Antony D'Souza ( Lucknow diocese), passed away on May 29, 2020.

Funeral service will be conducted at parish cemetery at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, Bandra West, Mumbai at 4.30 pm on Friday, May 29.

RIP Uncle,

Just as you kept a low profile throughout your life in spite of your towering positive contribution to the lives of so many Athletics & Basketball players who went on to represent Maharashtra State and the Country, you left us for your heavenly abode quietly and without a fuss. You yourself represented Maharashtra State in the High Jump at the Nationals, your Bombay University record lasted for more than two decades. You were instrumenal in bringing sponsporship to Athletics through BP in a big way in the eighties and noughties in Maharashtra.
You were a hard taskmaster who didn't suffer fools gladly. Professionally you discharged your duties in the Customs & Central Excise with so much zeal that you survived an attempt on your life by the henchmen of Papu Kalani in Ulhasnagar.
You were and will remain my hero for life. As I cherish all the wonderful memories I spent with you in my childhood and teenage years, I consider myself blessed.
