Honouring Fr. Hermil Joshim Dsouza on 25 Years of Priesthood

Before I was born the Lord called me;

from my mother’s womb he has spoken my name.

On your ordination day with grateful hearts to God Almighty we seek Ann and Mai’s blessings upon you. Your selfless ministry to Christ has been purposeful and inspirational to the people of God.

Today, we pen down your journey that began in 1963 born to our loving and spiritual parents Late. I.M Dsouza and Late. Lilly Dsouza in Basrikatte. 9th among the 15 children, you upheld values, wisdom and compassion. Following our eldest brother Fr. Robert D'souza’s footsteps, in the year 1983 you responded to Gods calling “Come Follow me” – Mathew 4:19 and joined the Kolkata Arch Diocese Minor Seminary and thereby devoted your life to God.

11/05/1995 marks the day you were ordained as a Priest by Cyprian Monis  Bishop of (Asansol Diosese ) at Basrikatte Church. Your notable presence was felt throughout your missions at St. Antony’s Church- Kharagpur, Christ the Light Church- Basinda, Holy Family Church- Kerchand, Christ the King- Park Circus, St. John Vianney Seminary as a Rector and currently serving as a Parish Priest at St. Patrick’s Church, DumDum.

Fr. Hermil, you have been tending our congregation by opening God's word, and live your life reflecting on the gospel of God.You care for others deeply and lift them up in prayer.When we face misfortune, we know you will be there by our side.

Throughout your 25 years of priesthood you spread kindness and happiness towards all those entrusted in your care, enlightened people with your wisdom and empowered the youth.

In your future endeavours as a Director of St. Joseph’s Hospital- Midnapore, we pray that the Holy Spirit grant you success, good health and fulfilment in all your efforts to make a difference.

May Mary the mother of priests and St. John Vianney, the patron of priests, guide you on all your spiritual and pastoral Journey. May you continue to be sustained by their grace and may your life in God’s service always be filled with joy.

On the occasion of your Silver Jubilee of Priestly Ordination, we your Sisters and Brothers along with our families felicitate and congratulate you. We love you.
