Fr Aloysius Leander D’Souza OFMCap (86), passed away on December 5, 2023.

Mortal remains will be brought to St Anne's Friary Chapel, Bejai, Mangalore on December 6 at 1:00 pm, followed by Holy Eucharist at 1.30 pm. At 2.30 pm the mortal remains will be taken to St Fidelis Friary, Farangipet for funeral Mass at 3.30 pm.

From the humble beginnings in Hospet, God picked Fr. Aloysius to carry on the Apostolic mission of St. Assisi. He was a great human being. In his capacity, he carried on the mission work through out the world . As a Theologian he galvanized humanity from his teachings and spiritual leadership with various roles in his chosen Capuchin brotherhood in Karnataka state and abroad. As a close relative , I will miss Fr. Aloysius and his almost daily wishes" Good morning" to me until he was incapacitated while ago. His passing leaves a void in my life. But he is with his creator fulfilling his role in this temporary world for which he was chosen. Fr. Aloysius please pray for us and one day I hope we meet each other and say Good Morning again in the spiritual midst. RIP Fr. Aloysius.

Fr. Aloysius was from our native place Hospet. His sister Agnes was a Bethany sister . Both of them I knew well. When he was in Mysore Krpalaya he used to visit Anjali Ashram. Recent years I did not meet him. God gave him a long life to live for his people. May God grant him eternal rest. May his relatives be comforted by the Lord.
