Sr Mary Tressy BS nee Jenis Pinto (76) of the Congregation of the Sisters of the Little Flower of Bethany, Mangalore, passed away on October 23, 2023.

She was a member of Jyothi Nilaya Convent, Bangalore. She hails from St Roque Church, Neerude of Mangalore Diocese.

Funeral rites will be held in Jyothi Nilaya Convent Chapel, Bangalore on Tuesday, October 24 at 3:00 pm.

Jenice Pinto, Sr. Tressy and myself were classmates at Rosa Mystica High School, Kinnikambla, Mangalore. We answered our tenth exam together 1966. Though we joined the same year, she was sent to do her Teachers Training and I became a postulent and went to the novitiate. Thus we were not together. When she was in Bangalore as Superior I visited many times. My sister used to tell she suffered a lot. Later she took a break and was with us in the Ashram for 8 months. Regular for her dhyana, spiritual exercises and cheerful person. After that I never met her. I always inquired about her health from my Sr. Clerilla and was praying for her. Her earthly sufferings are over and God has chosen a better place for her and taken her to himself. Miss her physical presence. Condolences to her relatives and the sisters of Bethany. May the Lord grant her eternal rest.

She was my school headmistress at St.Micheals Hr. Pray School Dandeli. A very good teacher, administrator and a spiritual leader. She was strict and I recollect those days wheywe had to memorize the prayers in Konkani, our mother tongue. I have known you thru my Priest brother Fr. Denis since 1984 and eventaully I became memeber of your family. To remember a few places where you rendered your selfless service are : Dandeli, Sagar, Londa, Dharwad, Ponnampet, Bangalore etc. Your sufferings on this world comes to an end when you unite with our Lord to celebrate the bliss of heavenly abode, please pray for all of us from Heaven.
