Bengaluru, Jan 25: Even though classes have not been started for first to ninth standard students so far, the department of education has decided to conduct examinations for them. As coronavirus had hit the country, final examinations had not been held for these students last year.

Currently, offline classes are not being held for the first to ninth standard students. For the students between sixth and ninth standards, Vidyagama classes are held three days a week. At the same time, the official curriculum has not been cut down.

Sources in the education department said that the schools have been asked to examinations along with other academic processes. As per the right to education act, none of the students from first to ninth standards can be failed in examinations. Therefore, examinations will be held, everyone will be declared as promoted and special preference will be given on the basis of deficiency in education, a headmaster said.

Fee: In all likelihood, the government will ask private educational institutions to cut down 30 to 35 percent of the school fee. This decision may be taken on Monday or Tuesday, sources in the department stated.

Malleswamy, deputy director of public instruction, Dakshina Kannada, confirmed that educational evaluation process will be there for the students studying from first to ninth standard and the children are being trained under the Vidyagama scheme.
