Mangaluru: Theft of Rs 5.41 lac from polytechnic college - Accused held

Mangaluru, Jan 22: Police personnel of Bajpe station here have arrested a person who has been accused of stealing cash amounting to Rs 5.41 lac kept in an almirah of the office of Sri Niranjanaswamy Polytechnic College, Sunkadakatte, by breaking the lock of the almirah on December 9, 2020.

The arrested accused has been identified as Arif (26), resident Islah Ul Jumma Masjid compound at Vamanjur Thiruvail.

Arif faces seven cases registered in Moodbidri police staiton earlier relating to theft, robbery, dacoity, murder attempt and ATM theft, four in the rural plolice station here, two cases each in Kavoor and Kankanady town police stations, as well as one case each in Bantwal town, rural, and Suratkal police station. He has 18 cases filed against him.
