Udupi, Jan 21: “Let us spread our bond towards society beyond our families. It is necessary to give up selfishness and work for the welfare of all to achieve global bond. St Lawrence is a model for us in that direction,” said Byndoor parish priest Vincent Coelho. He was speaking in the mass homily at Attur St Lawrence Church on the fourth day of the annual festival.

The attendance of the devotees was substantial for the five masses even though there were no fairs or processions. Special novena for St Lawrence and prayers for the sick were held.

Kanajar priest Fr Avinash Lobo, Mangaluru St Antony Ashram director Dr Onil D’Souza, Shirva priest Fr Kiran Nazareth and Mulki divine centre director Fr Abraham D’Souza celebrated the other masses. Priests who had arrived from other parishes took part in them.

There will be masses at 8 am, 10 am, 12 pm, 3 pm and 5 pm on Friday also.
