Mangaluru: SIT holds orientation programme, welcomes first year MBA, MCA students

Mangaluru, Jan 19: The orientation programme and welcome for the first-year MBA and MCA students of Srinivas Institute of Technology (SIT) were held on January 18 at Valachil campus, here.

The formal function was inaugurated by lighting the lamp by the dignitaries on the dais along with the newly joined students. The principal of the college, Dr Shrinivasa Mayya D, presided over the function and addressed the gathering. In his address, he emphasized the importance of education as well as explained about the placement for MBA and MCA students from the college. He also introduced all the faculties of MBA and MCA department to the audience.

The head of MBA department, Dr Ajoy S Joseph briefed the new entrants and parents on the details of academics, facilities, library and general discipline of the college and procedures of Visvesvaraya Technological University Belgaum. The head of MCA department, Dr Shashidhar Kini K gave information on the importance of higher education and explained the details of MCA course and facilities available in the college as well as career opportunities for MCA.

Many of the newly joined students expressed their opinions and expectations from the college and also about their satisfaction with the infrastructure and facilities being provided in the college. Professor Rajesh Naik, faculty of MCA department, welcomed the gathering and Dr Ambika G Mallya, faculty of MBA Department proposed the vote of thanks. Asifa Sajid was the master of ceremonies of the programme.
