Panaji, Jan 19: The condition of AYUSH minister Shripad Naik is improving, informed Goa Medical College dean (GMC) Dr S M Bandekar in a press release. Naik had suffered multiple fractures in the fatal road accident in Karnataka last week. “Naik was taken off high-flow nasal cannula (HFNC) and put on simple mask oxygenation. The minister is now being given a normal diet,” said Dr Bandekar.

After receiving preliminary treatment at a hospital in Karnataka, Naik was shifted to GMC. “The minister is doing well and his general condition is improving. All his parameters, including blood pressure, pulse rate and oxygen saturation levels are normal,” Dr Bandekar stated.

He was given a blood transfusion twice so that his wounds heal faster, he added.
