Mangaluru, Jan 18: Catholic Sabha Mangalore Pradesh (R) city ward felicitated 12 newly elected Catholic panchayat members of the city ward. The programme was held at Mother of God Church hall, Shaktinagar.

The programme was inaugurated by Fr Austin Peris, spiritual director of the city ward. The guests of honour were Dr Ciprian Montiero and AICU national president, Lancy D'Cunha. City ward president Wilfred Alvares, secretary Felix Moras and Shaktinagar unit president, Johnson D'Souza were present on the dais.

Wilfred Alvares welcomed everyone, while AICU president, Lancy D'Cunha introduced and felicitated the 12 panchayat members.

Fr Austin Peris, in his address, congratulated all the winners. Catholic Sabha Shaktinagar unit felicitated four achievers.

Later, Dr Cyprian Monteiro in his speech thanked the organiser and encouraged the community children to apply for government jobs. The city ward secretary, Felix Moras proposed the vote of thanks. The programme was compered by Sheela D'Souza from Derebail.
