Ramanagar: Kumaraswamy seeks forgiveness for breaking his word, offers 'Thappu Kanike'

Daijiworld Media Network - Ramanagar (MS)

Ramanagar, Jan 17: Former chief minister and MLA of Channapatna constituency H D Kumaraswamy, along with family on Saturday January 17 offered 'Thappu Kanike' of Rs 101 at the Sri Laxmi Narasimha Swamy temple at Jalamangala village of the taluk.

In 2004, when H D Kumaraswamy had contested from Ramanagar constituency, villagers had raised slogans that Kumaraswamy would be the next chief minister of Karnataka. Responding to the sloganeering of the villagers, Kumaraswamy had said that he would not take chief minister's or ministerian post. He had even made the same statement in front of the deity.

Later however, following a series of political events, Kumaraswamy became chief minister of the state twice, but could not complete full term both times.

The villagers of Jalamangala believe that if Kumaraswamy asks for forgiveness for not keeping his word and also offers 'Thappu Kanike', he will again become the chief minister of Karnataka and complete five years' term.

Accordingly, Kumaraswamy visited the temple and offered the specified amount and prayed for forgiveness.

His wife Anitha Kumaraswamy, Youth JD(S) president and son Nikhil Kumaraswamy and other family members were present.

HDK will always be the ''King'' in Ktaka politics. All he has to do is sit back and ensure BJP does not get votes and comes to power in majority. The rest of the regional parties will HAVE to depend on JDS then to form a Govt . HDK will then support on the condition of becoming the CM of the state. So for him being a 2nd or 3rd ranker is more than enough. Its upto Congress or other parties to slog their backsides off to fight for survival.

Rs101.00 is nothing... Forgiveness ...it should be approved by God..... Thappu Kanike is accepting that Kumaraswamy is the culprit and must spend his time in jail....

You all politicians should give "thappu kanike" to the voters and not to the temple.

Very easy to get away with an amount of 101.
