Bengaluru, Jan 16: On the issue of payment of school fee of private schools, heated arguments took place between the representatives of parents and school managements.

Commissioner in the department of public instruction, V Anmbkumar, held a meeting on this issue with the representatives of parents and school managements on Friday January 15 at the integrated education office. The parents insisted that 50 percent fee concession should be extended. The management representatives refused to extend such a huge concession, duly pointing out that the parents last year were allowed to pay a fee in installments. They noted that many had not admitted their children, and the schools are finding it difficult to pay salaries to teachers. They asked the government to direct the parents to pay the school fee.

After the representatives of both the sides came out of the meeting hall, the two sides were about to come to blows. The officials pacified them.

Anbukumar said after the meeting that report of the meeting will be sent to the principal secretary in the department, Umashankar, after which the education minister will take a decision.

Education minister Suresh Kumar, said that based on the opinion emanating at the meeting, the principal secretary will be submitting report on the basis of which a suitable decision will be taken.

Representatives of Parents Associations, Karnataka Associated Managements of Primary and Secondary Schools in Karnataka, Karnataka Unaided School Managements Association, Recognised Unaided Private Schools Association, CBSE and ICSE associaiton representatives attended the meeting.
