Daijiworld Media Network - Kaup (SP)

Kaup, Jan 13: A video clip of two private bus drivers fighting it out on the road has now become viral in the social media.

The incident occurred at the Kaup express bus stop. Both the buses were moving from Mangaluru towards Udupi when the crew of AKMS bus overtook Kohinoor bus and objected to Kohinoor bus for picking passengers at Kaup bus stop.

The AKMS bus crew members, driver Irshad and conductor Pawan, went near the driver's seat of Kohinoor bus and hit the vehicle with a rod in hand. The person with a rod in hand seen while coming to hit the conductor of Kohinoor bus, is identified as Jaleel.

The incident happened due to the disputed timing issue between the two buses.

A complaint was filed by Safiulla, driver of Kohinoor bus, in this regard in Kaup police station.

If the administration (Police, RTO, District) had a spine, such incidents may not happen.

Abolish the private bus mafia in both the districts and see the difference. The staff of the private bus are only goons with no education.

I have travelled previously in AKMS bus. The conductor was very rude while requesting people to move forward when the bus was crowded. These type of behavior is not accepted. RTO should cancel the license of these bus drivers for rash driving and putting the life at risk of the passengers

These Express buses are a menace on the roads and their rowdy drivers and conductors an even bigger menace. They have no respect for the traffic rules or fellow motorists. Either install speed governors on these buses or ban these express buses forever and replace them with inter district KSRTC buses.

It is not the two particular buses but most buses where the drivers and conductors think they are owners of the roads honking , speeding, abusing at road users who don’t give way immediately.

And for these thugs we have smart bus stops where the Government has spent Lakhs . Before constructing these bus stops a crash course should have been given to the bus and rickshaw drivers on how to drive. It would have stopped most of these incidents as well as accidents.

This is an issue not just today, but since ages between buses trying to compete for filling the seats. The bus owner's association should have dispute resolution mechanism wherein complaints are taken and some fine be imposed rather than bus crew resort to instant justice. They should provide evidence just like police is using video evidence to fine traffic violations.
