Udupi: Unique protest - Petty shop shifted, lady lies down in foundation pit

Daijiworld Media Network - Udupi (SP)

Udupi, Jan 12: In order to register her protest against the sudden shifting of her petty shop for constructing a compound wall, a lady laid down in the foundation pit on January 10 night.

The lady in question, identified as Vanitha from Udyavar near here, has been operating a petty shop dealing in lime made out of lime shells, since the last several years.

Without any prior information, some individuals evicted her petty shop from its spot at night and began to dig the foundation pit. Vanita, who came to know of the development, rushed to the spot and began to protest.

People gathered there in large numbers. The police arrived at the spot and brought the situation under control.

If the petty shop was built on somebody else's property, it amounts to trespassing & is totally wrong!

this is very disgusting issue. A poor lady is being deprived of her livelihood. Authorities should arrest the hooligans who distroyed her petty shop and reconstruct her stall in same or another place immediately. all the expenses should be recovered by the hooligans.
